The Section has worked for some time on the subject “future – work – prevention – what can risk management and risk governance
contribute?” The results of the project were published in 2008 in the book “ Risks in Modern Society” (Springer Science + Business Media).
The book shall be presented Dec. 10th, 2009, in Brussels (presentation 6.00 p.m. – 7.30 p.m., afterwards reception). Patron is Prof. Peter
Frankenberg, Minister for Science and Research of the Province of Baden-Württemberg who shall be personally present. The presentation
shall in particular deal with the importance of risk management and risk governance for industry and economy, politics, insurance
and the question: Why is it useful to focus on occupational safety and health?
